Nursery Construction

Mom came down to help and she came to an ultra sound with me!!  It was rough we had to move all the office furniture downstairs and paint the entire room and by we - I mean Shawn and my mom since I can't lift  heavy things nor smell paint - ha have to take advantage while I can :)  Thanks mom and Shawn!

Maybe a little much in one day???
HA!  Okay so after the crib was built and barely barely fit up the stairs it definitely would not fit down the hall and in the nursery door so they had to take it apart and put it back together in the nursery!!  HA we couldn't believe no one realized it wouldn't fit in the door.  Thanks men for your patience and help.

So I have entered into the 3rd trimester!!

Pregnancy is going so fast!!!!  Before we know it our little girl will be here!

Everything has been going really well -  I had a really busy last few months work wise.  I was filling in for my company at Heartland Girls Ranch out in Benson  which was a 3 hour drive for me two days a week. This made for some really long days because I had to fit in my clients on top of the Ranch.  I am now done there - we hired someone full time so looking forward to getting back to just a normal 40 or so hour job a week :)

I had a lot of energy during the 2nd trimester and hope to keep it a while longer into the 3rd trimester.  Let's see some fun things that happened since I posted last - I feel our little girl move everyday and a lot!!  She is one busy little person!

Shawn has felt her move several times as well - in fact this  morning when he was reading her a story (reading my belly a story!) she started kicking - so I think she recognizes his voice!!

Also I did hit a hiccup and failed my first glucose screening - which is a test for gestational diabetes.  I had to go back and spend 4 hours in the lab and got my blood drawn 4 times - they actually poke you in the same spot twice!!  Anyways I passed that screening with flying colors - so don't have to worry about gestational diabetes which was a relief.  I have been trying to eat healthy and continue to work out but I figured once they told me I couldn't eat junk food is when I would start craving it.

Speaking of cravings - my favorite foods have been popcorn, meatballs, and oranges!!!  Of course not all together but love all 3!

I am still feel like I am still really mobile and can do most things :)  I hope this feeling also last a while longer!

Shawn and I went to an all day Childbirth Prep Class on Saturday!  It was a long day but I felt like we really learned a lot!!  Some of the topics were: nutrition, exercise, public health programs, labor and delivery, newborn care, car seat safety, bottle feeding, nursing info and more...  It was a fun experience to do together and we left thinking we learned a lot!  Shawn's one comment after the labor and delivery section to the class was man I think the C Section looks a lot easier :)  ha we watched a video of a delivery!!

This week will be a fun baby week - I have an ultrasound on Wednesday that my mom is coming down to come a long with!!  We are then painting and setting up the nursery!!  Well  I guess my mom and Shawn are since I can't lift heavy things and can't paint - bummer NOT!  But I am so excited to post pics of it when it is done!

So I am now into the 3rd trimester!!  I am 28 weeks - which 37-40 weeks is full term :)  We are getting really excited to meet the little kicker!

Hope to update again soon!!

You guessed it :)

We are having a little girl!!!!

The ultrasound was such an amazing experience.  We saw her little heart beating, her toes, her fingers, her lips, her side profile, and so so much more.

She was extremely active - moving around a lot!!  It is so strange because I haven't felt it yet!!!  I am just dying waiting for that experience.  I really hope it is soon :)  But due to her moving we actually get to have another ultrasound cause she didn't stay still enough to get a few needed measurements!! It will be this coming Monday!

I was thrilled with the news of getting to see her again! I think this second ultra sound will be even better because we can relax a little cause we know she has both of her arms and all of her fingers and toes ect... so it will be the awesome experience again without the anxiety!

So we are a little past 20 weeks which I will give you a little update of the baby at week 20!

Week 20
By pregnancy week 20, your baby is now almost 10 to 11 ounces and is 10 inches long! The pregnancy week by week changes occurring at this stage are truly remarkable.

How Big is the Baby at 20 Weeks Pregnant?

Your Baby's Growth and Development
By 20 weeks, your baby is now practicing breathing and swallowing on a regular basis. Your baby continues to grow and fill out, with the head becoming slightly more proportional to the rest of the body.
Your baby's skin is becoming more complex now, forming different layers. The epidermis, or surface of your baby's skin, has four layers that contain ridges for fingertips. The layers that form in your baby's palms and feet will provide him with his own unique fingerprint later in life.

Your Growth and Development
By 20 weeks, you are at the midpoint of your pregnancy, and onlookers are definitely starting to notice your bump! After pregnancy week 20 your uterus has likely reached your bellybutton. Growth typically starts to become more regular from this point on, so you should be noticing regular changes in your belly.

Here is a pic that shows the size at week 20!

I have a few bump pics to add and soon I will scan in the real ultrasounds pics of our baby for all to see :)

Boy or Girl

At the top of the page - there is a boy or girl poll - above that there is supposed to be a question which says what do you think we are having??    But the question isn't showing up.  So sorry but vote you only have till next Thursday!

The REAL beginning!

Hey all!

Hope you are enjoying our blog :)  I have had a snow day here - all the schools were cancelled and I wasn't able to get out of our driveway till about 5 tonight so my schedule was cleared too :)

I wanted to tell some of you the real beginning of Little B - I was at home and thought something was different :)  I found out I was pregnant and just called Shawn at work to just say hi and see how much longer he was going to be.  Except I couldn't hold it in the amazing news and I told him over the phone!!!  Ha and yeah I had thought of some cute ways to tell him when he got home but I just couldn't keep it in!!

After we talked for awhile, he said well I will see you after work - but low and behold 35 mins later (on a normal 45 min drive) Shawn was home!!  He stated I walked back to the crew and realized there was no way I could work and came home!

The cool thing about all of this we found out on our anniversary weekend :)  So that date is now special because of two very important events in our lives!!

I have now moved into the 5th month!  It is flying by and I have been feeling so much better these last two months. So it has been real fun to be pregnant!  I am so excited for Shawn and I to get to feel some movement from little B- which I believe will be soon!!

Hope you all had a good snowy day!

** I will post some pics of the bump soon!**
