You guessed it :)

We are having a little girl!!!!

The ultrasound was such an amazing experience.  We saw her little heart beating, her toes, her fingers, her lips, her side profile, and so so much more.

She was extremely active - moving around a lot!!  It is so strange because I haven't felt it yet!!!  I am just dying waiting for that experience.  I really hope it is soon :)  But due to her moving we actually get to have another ultrasound cause she didn't stay still enough to get a few needed measurements!! It will be this coming Monday!

I was thrilled with the news of getting to see her again! I think this second ultra sound will be even better because we can relax a little cause we know she has both of her arms and all of her fingers and toes ect... so it will be the awesome experience again without the anxiety!

So we are a little past 20 weeks which I will give you a little update of the baby at week 20!

Week 20
By pregnancy week 20, your baby is now almost 10 to 11 ounces and is 10 inches long! The pregnancy week by week changes occurring at this stage are truly remarkable.

How Big is the Baby at 20 Weeks Pregnant?

Your Baby's Growth and Development
By 20 weeks, your baby is now practicing breathing and swallowing on a regular basis. Your baby continues to grow and fill out, with the head becoming slightly more proportional to the rest of the body.
Your baby's skin is becoming more complex now, forming different layers. The epidermis, or surface of your baby's skin, has four layers that contain ridges for fingertips. The layers that form in your baby's palms and feet will provide him with his own unique fingerprint later in life.

Your Growth and Development
By 20 weeks, you are at the midpoint of your pregnancy, and onlookers are definitely starting to notice your bump! After pregnancy week 20 your uterus has likely reached your bellybutton. Growth typically starts to become more regular from this point on, so you should be noticing regular changes in your belly.

Here is a pic that shows the size at week 20!

I have a few bump pics to add and soon I will scan in the real ultrasounds pics of our baby for all to see :)

Boy or Girl

At the top of the page - there is a boy or girl poll - above that there is supposed to be a question which says what do you think we are having??    But the question isn't showing up.  So sorry but vote you only have till next Thursday!

The REAL beginning!

Hey all!

Hope you are enjoying our blog :)  I have had a snow day here - all the schools were cancelled and I wasn't able to get out of our driveway till about 5 tonight so my schedule was cleared too :)

I wanted to tell some of you the real beginning of Little B - I was at home and thought something was different :)  I found out I was pregnant and just called Shawn at work to just say hi and see how much longer he was going to be.  Except I couldn't hold it in the amazing news and I told him over the phone!!!  Ha and yeah I had thought of some cute ways to tell him when he got home but I just couldn't keep it in!!

After we talked for awhile, he said well I will see you after work - but low and behold 35 mins later (on a normal 45 min drive) Shawn was home!!  He stated I walked back to the crew and realized there was no way I could work and came home!

The cool thing about all of this we found out on our anniversary weekend :)  So that date is now special because of two very important events in our lives!!

I have now moved into the 5th month!  It is flying by and I have been feeling so much better these last two months. So it has been real fun to be pregnant!  I am so excited for Shawn and I to get to feel some movement from little B- which I believe will be soon!!

Hope you all had a good snowy day!

** I will post some pics of the bump soon!**

The Beginning of Little B

So most of you know - we are having a baby!!!  We are so excited and can't wait for the day we actually get to see our Little B.

We have nick named the baby - Little B.  It is fun to have a name to call the little one.  So I am a little over 17 weeks! and am starting to feel great.  The first trimester was a little long and not the greatest!  I was pretty nauseous and super super tired.  Our bed time changed till about 8 pm!  We decided to move a TV into the bedroom so Shawn would have something to do and still be close :)  But it will be leaving again as soon as B arrives!

Here is a quick update on the size and what is going on with the baby:

How Big is the Baby at 17 Weeks Pregnant?
Your baby is 5.1 inches by pregnancy week 17 and weighs almost 5 ounces! If you were to hold your baby, she would fit snuggly in the palm of your hand.

Your Baby's Growth and Development
Your baby during week 17 is very mobile, gleefully moving his joints here, there and everywhere and he will continue to do so as you continue your pregnancy week by week. The cartilage making up the skeleton in your baby's body is starting to transform into bone. At 17 weeks, your baby should be hearing things. Your baby will start putting on some layers of fat in the weeks to come, though at this point in time, your baby is made up of primarily water.
You may be feeling your baby move intermittently after pregnancy week 17, though as your pregnancy progresses, you will likely start feeling your baby move more and more.
There are many natural health practitioners that believe in the power of touch. Though your little one is still very small, your touch may do much to help him feel safe and warm inside the womb. If you haven't started already, you might consider rubbing your 'pooch' in calming circular motions. This will not only help comfort your little one, but will help initiate the bonding process with you and your baby throughout your pregnancy and after. Other women find comfort playing music to their unborn children. There is evidence suggesting that your baby responds to music even while in the womb. Thus, there is no harm in playing some calm and engaging music to your unborn baby.

We get to find out the baby’s sex in two weeks from today if B is positioned right!  Then it is time to start on some fun things and maybe even a little shopping!!  Hope you enjoy this blog!
Have a great Thanksgiving!
